Two MCAS Yuma Marines Killed in Afghanistan

YUMA - An official military source confirms the two marines who lost their lives in Friday's attack on Camp Bastion in Afghanistan were stationed out of MCAS Yuma.

The names of the fallen marines are being withheld by the Department of Defense until Sunday.

The only Marine Harrier Squadron serving in Afghanistan is the Arizona-based Marine Attack Squadron 211, nicknamed "The Avengers."

Seventeen insurgents were killed in the attack. One insurgent was injured and is in custody.
