YUMA, AZ - The Yuma Police Department is warning the public of a phone scam targeting the Hispanic community.
They say they have seen an increase in reports of scammers calling victims and identifying themselves as a relative in need of financial help.
Scammers pose as friends or family asking the victims to wire them money.
YPD is also offering links on how to avoid becoming a scam victim.

You can also contact the U.S. Postal Inspection Service or the Federal Bureau of Investigations and tell them you want information to protect yourself against fraud and internet schemes.
