Yuma Police Nab Man Wanted for Armed Robbery

YUMA - Yuma police are confirming the capture and arrest of a man wanted for armed robbery.

Jessie Teposte, 24, was taken into custody Friday night in Somerton. YPD says they got word Teposte was hiding in an apartment building near State Street and George Street. They spotted him leaving the building around 6:20 this evening. There was a short foot chase before Teposte was handcuffed.

Teposte was taken down by a police dog. He was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center for medical treatment of injuries he sustained. Once released from the hospital, Teposte will be booked into Yuma County Jail for armed robbery, as well as an outstanding felony arrest warrant.

Teposte is the prime suspect in the holdup of a family owned and operated business in Yuma. He's accused of robbing the store's owners at gunpoint Thursday afternoon around two o'clock.

The manhunt for Teposte began shortly after the crime, and included the search of at least two homes. One woman was questioned by police about the robbery, but was later released.

Several law enforcement agencies took part in tonight's arrest.
