Suspects still on loose after El Centro stabbing incident

Posted: Updated:

EL CENTRO - Police are still looking for the suspects in an early-morning stabbing over the weekend.

"El Centro is really nice to live but the violence here in this block is really bad. This is probably the third stabbing that I've heard of in this area of Euclid".

The stabbing that Kathryn Arellano is referring to, happened in the neighborhood in the 500th block of Euclid Avenue early on Sunday morning.

According to police, several male individuals were sitting in their front yard just after midnight.

Around one o'clock a car pulled up to the house and a fight ensued between those that were in the front yard and 4 individuals that exited the car.

Kathryn says that she can't wait until the day that she can move out of the neighborhood

"Bad enough that I don't wanna hear about stabbings anymore", she says. "I don't wanna hear about fights, I don't wanna hear about gang members did this… none of that".

The stabbing landed 3 men at El Centro Regional Medical Center, one of them refusing any medical aid or information regarding the incident.

Isidro Sicairos has lived in El Centro for 58 years and says that he has yet to witness crime in his neighborhood.

"It really surprises me", he says. "I rarely hear of crime in this neighborhood. Maybe it's because I try to stay indoors because of my heart condition".

Alex Morales doesn't try to stay indoors at all. He has on several occasions tried to confront those that have come in to his backyard to steal his belongings and has taken every precaution to prevent it.

"Four times I've been robbed out of my backyard", says Morales. "I've gone as far as buying a new guard dog, being out here late at night with flashlights when we hear sounds, it's becoming like that around here".

Sources tell KSWT that there is a child involved. The father of the child was one of the men that exited the car and attacked the man that lives with the mother and child now.

This information has not been confirmed by authorities.

If you have any information regarding this matter, you are urged to contact the El Centro Police Department. You can remain anonymous if you choose to.
