Barricade suspect indicted by Yuma County Grand Jury

YUMA, AZ- A man accused of assaulting a woman and her 8 year old son with a box cutter has been indicted by a Grand Jury.

Chad Diener will be arraigned in Yuma Superior Court on three counts of aggravated assault next week. Two of those counts are pertaining to a deadly weapon, the other has to do with a minor under 15 years old. 

The Yuma Police Department says Diener got into an altercation with the two in the 2500 block of S Virginia Drive the evening of October 1.

Afterwards Diener barricaded himself inside his apartment from police for nearly five hours.

He remains behind bars on $400,000 bond.
