Yuma, AZ- Hidden in the North Gila River Valley is the homestead of Cesar Chavez.
Chavez founded and lead the first successful farm workers union in American history.
The Cesar Chavez Foundation and Nuestro Rio took News 13 on a guided tour of where the Chavez family lived and worked.
First we visited their old adobe home, only a small piece of it was left.
We visited the school Chavez attended, we saw the store his father once owned and we also stopped at a site where some of the Chavez's were buried.
After the tour dozens of Hispanic leaders gathered for a luncheon in Yuma to learn more about the importance of the Colorado River and to remember Chavez.
