House-sized Asteroid Buzzes Earth

An asteroid the size of a house is zipping by earth today, but don't worry, it poses no threat to the planet.

"Asteroid 2012 TC4" will come within 59,000 miles of Earth … about one-quarter the distance between us and the moon. The asteroid was discovered by astronomers eight days ago. It measures 56-feet across.

Asteroid experts say it would take an asteroid nearly 500-feet in diameter to do widespread damage to the planet.
