YUMA, AZ - A man accused of assaulting a woman and her son with a box cutter pleads not guilty to the charges.
Chad Diener was arraigned in Yuma Superior Court Monday morning.
He was indicted on three counts of aggravated assault earlier this month.
On October 1, Yuma police responded to the 2500 block of S Virginia Drive where Diener had barricaded himself inside his apartment. They say he got into an altercation with a 40 year old woman and her 8 year old son.
YPD says after a five hour standoff, The Special Enforcement Unit had to force entry into Diener's apartment to arrest him.
Diener remains behind bars on $400,000 bond.
He will be back in court next week for a conditions of release hearing.
