YUMA, AZ - The U.S. Border Patrol is currently negotiating a contract to begin construction on a section of the border fence that collapsed near the Andrade port of entry.
The 114 foot section of the fence collapsed back in July.
Monday border patrol had a meeting with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Agent Spencer Tippets from the Yuma Sector Border Patrol says by the end of October they will know more about when construction will begin.
Agent Tippets says since the collapse border patrol has increased security along the fence. He says border patrol has not had any additional costs due to the collapse.
