YUMA, AZ- Two schools placed on a brief lockdown Tuesday afternoon while police investigated a domestic incident.

The Yuma Police Department says they were contacted by school officials at Alice Byrne around Noon.

They say a female parent got into an altercation with a man off campus and there was concern he could be in the area with a gun.

YPD says the suspect was then seen driving near Woodard Jr. High.

Following a traffic stop, the unidentified man was arrested for assault, disorderly conduct and criminal damage.

Police say no gun was found.

Both schools were on lockdown for about 25 minutes.
