Yuma man sentenced to prison in 2009 sex case involving two minors

Richard Fernandez

YUMA, AZ- A man is sentenced to 8.75 years in prison for attempted sexual conduct with a minor.

Richard Fernandez was arrested in April 2009 for sexually assaulting two girls under the age of 16.

He recently reached an agreement with the state and plead guilty to the charge.

Yuma County Superior Court Judge Lisa W. Bleich credited Fernandez for 888 days served in jail.

Fernandez has been free on bond.

He was taken into custody right after sentencing Wednesday morning.
