EL CENTRO - The Imperial Valley Pop Warner Football League held its 18th Annual Cheerleading Competition on Sunday afternoon.
Nearly 300 local cheerleaders, ranging from 5 years old to 15 years old, participated in the competition.
They all had an opportunity to showcase a routine in front of Imperial Valley Pop Warner Football League judges.
Although it is a competition, the cheerleaders have fun just by showing up.
The event also featured a Spirit Award. That one goes to the fans that showed the most spirit towards their cheerleaders. That trophy went to the Calexico Bulldogs as they were the loudest in the crowd.
Cheerleading not only allows the girls to have fun and meet other girls, but it also lets them lead a healthy life.
The Brawley Wildcats were the big winners at the event as they took home 4 of the 8 trophies handed out.
