Wellton man charged with robbing disabled man - | News for Yuma, Imperial Valley, El Centro, AZ & CA

WELLTON, AZ- Juan Uriarte has been charged with robbing a disabled man.

A formal complaint was filed against the 19 year old Wellton man.

In addition to robbery, Uriarte was also charged with assault and resisting arrest.

Wellton police say he verbally threatened and used physical force to intimidate a disabled man of his bicycle last Monday night.

They say the 23-year old victim was unable to defend himself... And he uses his bicycle as transportation.

Police say the incident happened at the Circle K on Los Angeles Avenue.

A judge lowered and re-set Uriarte's bond Tuesday from $50,000 to $7,500.

 He's due back in court next week for a preliminary hearing.
