Yuma border patrol agents seize $200,000 in pot over weekend

YUMA, AZ - Border Patrol agents from the Yuma sector seized nearly $250,000 in two separate busts over the weekend.

On Saturday, agent patrolling near Gila Bend saw six people walking with backpacks carrying nearly 200 pounds of marijuana.

The suspects were turned over to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

And on Sunday agents assigned to camp grip found more than 300 pounds of abandoned pot.

The drugs were seized and will be destroyed.
