YUMA - Police are asking for help to get a suspected child abductor off the streets. Yuma police say a 12 year old boy was grabbed by a man from behind while walking to school Thursday morning. It happened in the 2000-block of South Avenue A around 7:35.

YPD says the boy fought the suspect and was able to get away. He ran to a nearby Circle K convenience store, where his family was notified and called police. The boy suffered minor injuries.

Police are asking everyone to be on the lookout for teen or young adult man described as about 6' 1" tall, weighing 210 pounds. He has short brown hair and brown eyes with a tattoo or scar on his face.

Anyone with information about the suspect or Thursday's abduction attempt should call YPD or 78-CRIME.
