15-year-old girl found with drugs taped to her body

SALTON CITY, CA - A 15-year-old girl is now in the custody of immigration officials after she was found with two drug packages tapped to her body.

El Centro Sector Border Patrol says agents working at the Highway 86 checkpoint referred a car to a secondary inspection yesterday.

They say the Mexican girl was in the passenger seat and had false immigration documents.

The packages found on her body had a little over a pound of methamphetamine worth $35,000.

The driver, 41-year-old Mexican man, and the young girl were turned over to Drug Enforcement Administration for further investigation.
