Yuma, AZ- The Sunset Community Health Center will celebrate its "2nd Health Fair and Flu Immunization Campaign" in Yuma on November 17, 2012 from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Martin Luther King Jr. Center located at 300 S. 13th Avenue in Yuma, AZ.
In an effort to support the well being of our community, Sunset Community Health Center will be providing FREE screenings and vaccinations during this celebration. FREE flu immunizations will be provided for adults and children, health screenings will include dental varnish fluoride for children 0-5 years, basic dental exams for pregnant women, ear wax screenings, mental health, cholesterol, glucose, HIV, blood pressure, height and weight, body mass index, among others to be confirmed.
The event will also include referral information, and booths where organizations will offer their services to community members who may not know these services exist. Approximately, 30 social services agencies have made commitments to participate during this celebration. Some of the FREE information include mental health, substance abuse, housing, consumer lending services, domestic violence, tobacco, asthma, repairs and modifications for the elderly, primary and preventive medical care services, medical discount programs for people with no insurance, dental programs, women's health and much more!
This health and informational event is intended to provide our Yuma community residents an opportunity to receive information on topics which may encourage lifestyle changes, enhance the family's well being, increase awareness of community resources and improve their quality of life.
We encourage the community of Yuma to come and take advantage of the GREAT services that will be provided free during this celebration. Sunset's mission is "to deliver comprehensive and preventive primary care in a culturally sensitive, compassionate and professional manner, ultimately improving the health of our patients and responding to the health and education needs of our communities".
