El Centro police need public's help in identifying burglar
El Centro--Police need your help in identifying a burglar who stole thousand of dollars worth of merchandise from a local store.
Surveillance video shows the man breaking into the Imperial Truck and Auto Parts store located on the 1100 block of South Mccullon.
Police said the incident happened on October 26th and so far they haven't had any luck identifying the suspect.
"Other than that we don't know anything about this person or that vehicle. We have exhausted all of our resources here internally within the organization to try to figure out who this person is," Commander Jeff Mason of El Centro Police Department said. "That's why we are reaching out to the public."
Mason with ECPD said the suspect broke the counter apart to get to the cash register.
Once he removed the register from the store, he left through the front door.
Mason said the stolen cash register was found three days later outside a medical office on the 2100 block of South Ross.
Security cameras from the medical office shows the suspect's car entering the parking lot.
Police believe it's a dark colored Nissan or Toyota with a faded hood.
Afterwards the suspect gets out of the car and smashes the cash register against the ground.
He breaks it open, grabs the money and drives away.
El Centro Police said anyone with information on the suspect or the car is encouraged to call them.
They said you can also remain anonymous.
