YUMA - Hundreds of people have a new appreciation for local art and artists after attending tonight's "North End Art Walk."
The event ran from 5 o'clock to 9 o'clock this evening in downtown Yuma.
More than 30 galleries, businesses and studios took part. Dozens of talented local artists showcased their work in ceramics, jewelry, prints, canvases, photography and other artistic styles.
Patrick Quinn is the Production Supervisor for the Yuma Art Center. He says the art walk serves a number of good purposes.
"The reason we put on the event is to foster the growth of the downtown business, foster the growth of the arts in Yuma, promote local artists. At Yuma Art Center, we're all about promoting the growth of arts and the local artists here in our community, because we have a fantastic artistic society," says Quinn
Quinn says one or two Art Walks are put on each year.
