SAN LUIS, AZ - A Mexican man has been arrested for trying to smuggle more than a quarter-million dollars worth of drugs through the San Luis Port of Entry.

Customs and Border Protection officials say it happened Friday.

They say a canine agent detected the drugs inside of Bonfilio Hernandez-Sanchez's car.

Agents found 12 packages of methamphetamine and another package of cocaine hidden in the gas tank.

The estimated street value of the drugs is $268,000.

The 58-year-old man was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
