Garage fire forces Yuma family out of home

YUMA, AZ - A fire breaks out in a home while a family is eating, sitting around the dining table.

Luckily, everyone got out safely.

Rural Metro says it happened around 4pm Tuesday afternoon in the 3800 block Desert Air Boulevard.

The fire started in the garage. Firefighters say they had to break down the garage door to put out the flames.

The blaze was contained to the garage and most of the damage was done to a car inside.

The American Red Cross is providing a helping hand to the family because the house is full of smoke.

Firefighters are still investigating the cause of the fire.
