Yuma - For those people who enjoyed a deep-fried turkey this Thanksgiving, the only left-over is probably the grease.
We talked to Charly McMurdie of Rural Metro Fire to get some tips for storing or getting rid of used oil. She says deep-frying oil can be dropped off at any of several oil recycling places, like Walmart stores or certain gas stations.
If you're storing the oil to reuse it for a Christmas turkey, be sure to label the container, so everyone knows what it is, and that it's flammable. Be sure to store it in a cool place, away from children.
The City of Yuma also holds a quarterly household hazardous waste collection. The next one is scheduled for January.
