Rural Metro Continues to Check Produce Packing Fire

YUMA, AZ - The produce packing fire that destroyed three buildings and injured two people continues to smolder.

The fire broke out Wednesday afternoon at the Fresh Express produce packing plant east of Yuma. Rural Metro continues to check up on the area and was on site earlier today after receiving a call that a flame had been spotted.

Charly McMurdie from Rural Metro Fired Department says "The fire is out and the smoke is safe. The only thing we ask is people stay out of the area. Rural Metro says they will continue to keep a close eye on the area for the next few days.
