YUMA, AZ- The Yuma Police Department is doing all they can to help raise money for the special Olympics.
YPD took over Peter Piper Pizza on Pacific Avenue Tuesday.
Officers and staff were on hand to meet and greet those who participated in their fundraiser.
The take over allowed customers to donate 15% of their bill to the organization so Yuma athlete's can participate in the Law Enforcement Torch Run. "We're hoping to raise money for the special Olympians here in Arizona to help support them through their summer games, winter games and even our local events here.' 'To support them in any way we can" says YPD Detective Miguel Sanchez.
The YPD Peter Piper take over ended at 9 p.m.
No word on how much money was raised.
