Pay library fines with canned food - | News for Yuma, Imperial Valley, El Centro, AZ & CA

YUMA, AZ - With everyone's busy schedules sometimes it's hard to return library books on time. But now there is a way to pay late fees without hurting your pocketbook.

The Yuma County Library is now accepting canned food donations to pay for late books.

For each 10-ounce canned good brought in $1 gets knocked off your late fees account.  

They will accept canned goods to pay for fees until Saturday, December 22, 2012.

Also note, no jars, dented, or expired canned goods will be accepted.

All canned foods collected will be donated to the Yuma Community Food Bank.
