Somerton, AZ - Thousands filled the streets of downtown Somerton Saturday for the annual Somerton Tamale Festival.

This is the 6th year the festival has been put on. Although the festival satisfies thousands of hungry residents with a variety of different type of tamales, the festival is put on as a fundraiser for scholarships awarded to local ASU students.

The fundraiser was started by ASU graduates to encourage higher education and motivate student to begin their professional career in Yuma County after college.
