Kindness makes a difference day: Yuma

Yuma, AZ- Elementary school kids participated in a fun filled day in the middle of a winter wonderland here in the Desert Southwest.

The kids Cuddlekit closet hosted their 5th annual "kindness makes a difference day" at the Christmas Village at the Quartermaster Depot.

Over 200 students selected from 24 local schools got to participate in an over the top day filled with winter theme activities.

Including a snow work shop, a bounce castle, and they got to go inside a cookie bread house where they decorated cookies.

"Our non-profit reaches out to kids who may need a little extra kindness. It could be under privileged kids, kids who are bullied new kids, there are a variety of reasons why they may be chosen," said Kristin Sheppeard the Co-founder.

Each student also received a "big gift" which included a new sweat shirt, a pair of shoes, a blanket, and a toy of their choice.
