(KSWT News 13) - U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized 121 pounds of cocaine at the Calexico East Port of Entry on December 15, 2012.
At about 6:40 a.m., an officer referred a 29-year-old Mexicali man who was driving a commercial passenger bus for further inspection.
During the intensive inspection a canine team screened the bus and the detector dog alerted.
CBP officers used x-ray equipment to help them find 13 wrapped packages of cocaine hidden inside the spare tire of the bus.
The cocaine weighed 121 pounds and has an street value of approximately $1,452,000.
