MS-13 gang member and sex offender arrested at Calexico Station

CALEXICO, Calif. (KSWT News 13) – Over the holiday, El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents assigned to the Calexico Station apprehended a registered sex offender and a Mara Salvatrucha 13 (MS-13) gang member in two seperate incidents.

CBP tells KSWT News 13 that on December 24, at approximately 4 a.m., agents encountered a 26-year-old Honduran man near the Calexico port of entry.

A records check revealed that the man is a registered sex offender convicted of a felony kidnapping in 2004 in Hennepin County, Minnesota.

CBP also say that the next day, on December 25 at approximately 4 a.m., agents encountered a 23-year-old Salvadorian man near the same port of entry who is a member of the MS-13 criminal organization.

U.S. Border Patrol will seek prosecution on both individuals for illegal re-entry into the United States.
