YUMA, Ariz. (KSWT News 13) – DPS Investigators say they are looking at surveillance video to try to identify the hit-and-run driver who killed a woman near Cocopah Casino.
Witnesses found the victim, 33-year old Dora Guevera, lying on the side of Highway 95 on Wednesday morning.
A medical examiner says Guevara had been dead for nine hours before Cocopah Tribal Police Department arrived on the scene.
Tribal police then turned the investigation over to the Arizona Department of Public Safety is now handling the case.
DPS tells KSWT News 13 they do not have a description of the driver or the vehicle. Investigators say there was no other evidence found at the crime scene. Still, they are confident this case will be solved.
"We will find this person," said Bart Graves, DPS spokesperson. "No doubt about it."
DPS investigators are now looking at surveillance video captured by cameras positioned at the Cocopah Casino and the San Luis Port of Entry.
