YUMA, Ariz. (KSWT News 13) - The Yuma Jaycees are hosting a bean cook-off contest to help raise money for a mother and daughter who are both battling the same cancer.

Cheryl Fowler is fighting bone cancer along with her 40-year-old daughter Jennifer Colunga.

Both of the women have the same deadly disease and are having a hard time paying their medical expenses.

Their health insurance does not cover travel expenses for traveling to Phoenix to receive treatment.

The cook-off will take place at the Yuma Jaycee Clubhouse at 2577 E. County 14th Street, Saturday January 5, 2013.

It starts at 6:00 p.m. and tickets are $7 per person.
