YUMA, AZ - Club members from the Yuma Jaycees came together Saturday to help the mother and daughter of a fellow member as they battle against bone cancer.
It was a friendly bean cook-off that helped raise funds for two women who have been struggling with medical and traveling expenses.
The local organization often holds fundraisers to help those in the community and with the New Year they want to remind locals they are here to help.
Jaycee President Peggy Collins says, "If somebody needs help just give us a call. We'll see what we can do to help them out. That's what we are her for to make our community better."
This isn't the first time the Jaycees have helped in the fight against cancer. The organization holds an annual "Tough Enough to Wear Pink" rodeo in support of helping those with breast cancer locally.
