YUMA, Ariz. (KSWT News 13) - The Yuma County Sheriff's Office tells KSWT News 13 they are looking for a man who tried to kidnap a 6-year-old from her sister's arms on their way home from school.

The kidnapping attempt happened near May Avenue and 8th Street on Monday, January 7, at around 5:45 pm.

A 17-year-old was walking her 6-year-old sister from the bus stop when a man tried to pull the child away from her arms.

The 17-year-old told deputies she hit the man in the face with her keys.

The man then ran off covering his face with his hands.

The two girls told deputies the suspect has a tattoo of something with wings on the inside of his left forearm that could be either a bat or a bird.

Deputies tell us the suspect is a white male in his mid-twenties to early-thirties.

He has blonde hair and blue eyes.

He is between 5'10" and 6'01" and weighs approximately 175 lbs to 200 lbs.

Neither of the girls were hurt in the incident.

The suspect has not been caught. The Yuma County Sheriff's Office urges anyone with information to contact them regarding this case.
