WOODY, CA. - An Imperial Valley man died in an airplane crash near Bakersfield over the weekend.
The Kern County Sheriff's Office tells KSWT News 13 Jacob Curiel was one of two passengers on-board the plane.
The plane went down about two miles southeast of the mountain community of Woody Sunday.
Curiel and the pilot, James Johnston of Sanger, left San Diego enroute to Fresno when air traffic controllers lost contact with the plane.
A search and rescue crew found the plane's wreckage Monday morning.
Deputies tells us the NTSB finished up it's investigation at the scene Tuesday.
No word yet on what caused the plane to crash.
