YUMA, Ariz. (KSWT News 13) - The Southgate Mall is now under new ownership and the new owner has big plans to revamp it.

An affiliate of Kornwasser Shopping Center Properties, Southgate Mall LLC, bought the indoor mall in December 2012.

Kornwasser tells KSWT News 13 the mall will be closed by March to begin construction.

The new owner plans to demolish parts of some buildings in the indoor mall and to reconstruct the mall.

Some shops in the Southgate Mall will be relocated during construction.

Burlington Coat Factory, Big 5 Sporting Goods, Sears and Goodwill will not be relocated or closed.

The new owner tells KSWT News 13 the reconstruction has many large businesses interested in coming to the area.
