In this feature documentary, Lakay follows two brothers who return to their native Haiti in search of family members they haven't seen in 28 years and to unearth memories after the devastating 2010 Haitian earthquake.
"Haiti has somehow been forgotten," says director Tirf Alexius. He, along with his brother and co-producer, Remoh Romeo, spent a week rediscovering Haiti-accompanied by their Chicago-based film of crew of six.
The trailer launch comes just days before the anniversary of this tragedy. "Three years have gone by since that earthquake took 300,000 lives," says Tirf. "Haiti hasn't recovered. Lakay is the reminder that Haiti still needs our help."
