San Marcos , CA - A concession stand employee was shot Friday night when the San Marcos California movie theater she was working at was shot at from outside. The shot went through the lobby of the theater and struck the female employee.
She has been transferred to a hospital; her injuries have been reported as being not live threatening.
Sheriff Lt. Mike Munsey said the shooting apparently took place during a fight in the parking lot of the Edwards San Marcos Stadium 18 in West San Marcos. The shooting was reported at 9:08p.m. local time. Deputies were not sure if this was an ‘active shooter' situation with the suspect still in the movie theater. The movie theater was swarmed by deputies and a sheriff's helicopter flew above the scene.
Sheriff's quickly figured out that the shooting was not inside the theater and no one was evacuated.
The damages in this shooting included a 3-inch bullet hole in a window pane near the ticket booth and the concessions stand employee who sustained not life threatening injuries.
