Yuma farmers market in its second week

YUMA, AZ - Despite cool temps Saturday morning many still showed up to buy fresh lettuce and other produce from Yuma's very own locally grown produce market. Today was the second Saturday the fresh grown produce market has been held.

The farmers market was started by students and volunteers from the University of Arizona. U of A grows much of their own produce to sale but also relies on help from other small farmers in Yuma.

The farmers market sales everything from broccoli to lettuce, kale and radishes including a wide range of organic herbs. Stacey Bealmer from U of A started the farmers market and says it was highly need for the community.
