Trial begins Tuesday in the child molestation case against John Swaim

EL CENTRO, CA- Jury selection has wrapped up in the sexual misconduct case involving a former high ranking California Highway Patrol officer.

Johnnie Swaim is accused of molesting two young girls over ten years ago.

Swaim's attorney, Robert Espinoza, tells KSWT News 13 opening arguments for his client's trial will begin Tuesday morning at 9:30am.

Swaim was the highest commander at the Winterhaven California Highway Patrol office, when he was arraigned in November 2011, on several charges of sexually victimizing two underage girls.

The trail could last up to six weeks.

At least thirty witnesses are expected to testify.
