Murder in state prison under investigation

Calipatria State Prison officials are investigating the death of a prisoner as a murder.

Investigators are not releasing the name of the prisoner. They believe his cellmate murdered him.

The prisoner was serving 68 years to life in prison for committing a string of armed robberies.

His cellmate, who is now the main suspect in the murder, was serving 40 years in prison for second-degree murder.
