YUMA, Ariz. (KSWT News 13) - An 80-year-old man is dead after he was hit by a car on Monday night.
Police say the driver, who is 25-year-old, is cooperating with them.
Right now, police are looking for the driver of a van traveling behind Mattew who may have witnessed the deadly accident.
Police say the elderly man was crossing the street at the intersection of 4th Avenue and 24th Street.
Police say that's when the driver of a grey Toyota car that was heading eastbound ran him over.
Police would not confirm if the victim was in the crosswalk, had the green light to cross, or if the driver ran a red light. They also would not say whether the driver faces any charges.
Police say another person driving a light-colored Toyota Previa van may have witnessed the deadly accident.
Right now, they are asking this person to come forward.
The investigation into this deadly crash is ongoing. Police have not filed charges against the driver.
