YUMA, Ariz. (KSWT News 13) - Yuma police have arrested three teenage gang members in connection with two armed robberies.

Police arrested Abel Ruiz, 17, Anthony Michael Sanchez, 16, and Isaac J. Garcia, 17.

The three will be charged as adults for two robberies, one which happened Saturday, January 19, near West Camino Kino, and a second that happened a week later on Sunday, January 27, in the parking lot of El Encanto Apartments at 2651 S. 8th Avenue.

Yuma police arrested the three teens yesterday around 2:00 pm.

All three are being charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, theft, assisting a criminal in a street gang, and two counts of armed robbery.

After busting the three robbers, police obtained a warrant to search their homes, where they found the handgun they believe was used in the robberies.

Police say they searched three different homes and also found marijuana, a stolen assault weapon, a stolen rifle, a stolen ballistic vest, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

The three teen robbers were originally booked into Yuma County Juvenile Justice Center yesterday, but were transferred to the Yuma County Adult Detention Center today to be tried as adults.
