Border Patrol intercepts $167K worth of drugs; arrests 97 illegal immigrants

YUMA, Ariz. (KSWT News 13) - Yuma Border Patrol agents, who set up a checkpoint designed to catch drug smugglers, intercepted $167,000 worth of drugs, arrested 97 illegal immigratns, and busted people with stolen guns.

Agents set up the temporary checkpoint for one week along Interstate 10 near the Blythe Station.

This type of operation is done about twice a year.
