Smuggler busted with 38 pounds of meth in car

SAN LUIS, Ariz. – A 50-year-old man was busted trying to smuggle 38 pounds of methamphetamine into the United States.

It happened Saturday, when Customs and Border Protection officers and a detection dog discovered the drugs in the frame of Guillermo Eleazar Lopez-Rodriguez's Ford SUV.

The meth is valued at more than $580,000.

The smuggler was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
