Foothills Man Still Missing

YUMA – (KSWT NEWS 13) -- The search for a missing elderly man continues tonight. Laurence "Jack" Doering, 82, hasn't been seen since the morning of January 17th.

According to the Yuma County Sheriff's Office, the most recent possible sighting of Doering happened on Wednesday, when someone told deputies they had drinks with a person matching Doering's description in the Wellton area about three days ago. The lead is under investigation, but Doering remains missing.

YCSO also says there's been no activity on Doering's bank accounts since his disappearance three weeks ago.

Doering is 6' 1" tall and weighs 170 pounds with grey hair and blue eyes. He may be driving a gold 2002 Chevy Suburban with Idaho plates. Doering has Alzheimer's disease and he may be lost and confused.

His family says the 82 year-old doesn't do well with numbers or phones and probably can't put gas in his suburban without help.

Doering's license plate number and other information has been put into the National Crime Information Center computer system, but so far there have been no hits.

Anyone who sees Doering is asked to call the Yuma County Sheriff's Office at (928) 783-4427.
