Semi truck catches fire near homes

YUMA, Ariz. (KSWT News 13) - It was a close call for one residential area after a semi truck went up in flames.

According to Rural Metro Fire Department, the blaze happened just after 5 am on Saturday in the Tierra Mesa Estates off County 14th Street.

Firefighters say callers reported the fire after hearing what sounded like an explosion.

Upon arrival firefighters found a semi truck on fire and quickly extinguished the flames.

Nobody was hurt, and there was no damage to homes or surrounding area.
