United Blood Services says they urgently need Type O negative blood donors

Posted: Updated:

YUMA, Ariz. (KSWT News 13) - United Blood Services of Arizona is low on blood and asking for blood donations, especially from people with Type O negative blood.

Sue Threw, with United Blood Services, tells KSWT News 13 they're struggling to get enough blood donors after many people were sick with the recent bout of the flu and were unable to donate.

Their shortest supply is Type O negative blood, which is the only universal blood type that can be given to people with any other blood type.

Here are some upcoming blood drives where you can donate blood:

Saturday, February 23, from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, located at 11545 East 40th Street.

Monday, February 25, from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm, at Christ Lutheran Church, located at 2555 South Engler Ave.
