Man who died outside Imperial bar was handcuffed by bouncers

IMPERIAL, CA - KSWT News 13 has learned new information regarding the death of a man after he got into a fight with several bouncers at an Imperial nightclub.

The Imperial Police Department now tells us 31-year-old Daniel Romero was handcuffed by bouncers outside of Kashmir nightclub over the weekend.

Investigators are looking into whether or not the bouncers were trained and certified to do so legally. Police are also looking through surveillance video to determine if the bouncers used proper protocol. So far no cause of death has been determined. The Imperial County Coroner's Office is waiting on the results of Romero's toxicology report. No charges have been filed.

Family members of Daniel Romero have set up a memorial account at Sun Community Credit Union in Imperial. All donations will help pay for funeral expenses and benefit Romero's two daughters.

Additionally, two fundraiser's will be held this Saturday. A car wash will take place at Home Depot and Sonic in El Centro from 10a.m. to 3p.m.
