CALEXICO, Calif. (KSWT News 13) - Border Patrol agents arrested a smuggler who tried smuggling two men into the country from Mexico.
It happened Wednesday at 5:00 p.m.
Agents saw two men jump over the U.S.-Mexico border fence and get into a Chevrolet Malibu that was waiting for them at an intersection near Calexico.
The car sped off and tried to flee from agents.
Border Patrol tells KSWT News 13 the officers then used a spike-strip to slowly deflate the tires of the car as they tried to get away.
The driver, a 26-year-old U.S. citizen, was arrested and is facing smuggling charges.
The two El Salvador citizens in his car were also arrested.
