Mayor sues City of Yuma

YUMA, Ariz. (KSWT News 13) - Mayor Al Krieger is suing the City of Yuma for more than $15,000 in legal fees incurred in an investigation brought last year by other members of the City Council.

Mayor Krieger tells KSWT News 13 he is suing the City to recover more than $15,000 in legal defense costs.

In his lawsuit, the mayor names all six councilmembers, Finance Director Pat Wicks and City Administrator Greg Wilkinson.

As you recall, councilmembers voted last February to hire a special independent legal counsel.

According to investigators, the mayor committed several violations.

The investigation was then turned over to State Attorney General Tom Horne's office in May for a final review.

Eight months later, no charges have been filed.

KSWT News 13 will continue to follow up with the latest updates on this case.
